Fifa President Boardroom Chair – Joao Havelange

This is the official FIFA presidential chair which was used by former president and part Brazilian part Belgian Joao Havelange in the boardroom.

Havelange was president of FIFA from 1974 to 1998 and followed on from Sir Stanley Rous. He was then succeeded by the president at the time of writing, Sepp Blatter.

In May 2006 Havelange was implicated in an alleged cash for contracts scandal following the collapse of of the FIFA marketing partner ISL. The allegations stated that a number of officials had been secretly asked to replay the sweeteners they had received.

Joao was also awarded the Honorary Lifetime President position within FIFA, but resigned in April 2013.
