After spending his early career with Greenock Morton, also winning the 1922 Scottish Cup Final, John ‘Jock’ McIntyre moved to the USA and signed for Boston FC in 1924 as a wing half.
With the club McIntyre enjoyed much success, winning the league title in 1928 and the ASL Challenge Cup in both 1925 and 1927. This medal was awarded to Jock in 1927.
McIntyre left Boston for Coleraine FC in Northern Ireland in 1929, where he was player-manager until 1931.
In 1931, he returned to America to play four games with Boston Bears.
