This page from an autograph book has been signed by the Newcastle United side who won the famous ‘Over The Line’ cup final in 1932.
Bob John scored the opening goal for Arsenal before Jack Allen scored a controversial equaliser for Newcastle.
A long ball to Jimmy Richardson was deemed not to have gone out of play as he centred the ball and set up Allen, although photographs clearly show the ball over the line as Richardson hooks it back.
Allen went on to score again in the second half to secure the title for Newcastle.
Richardson eventually moved to Millwall and then Leyton Orient where he ended his career in 1947. He sadly died aged just 53, although his hook-back is often cited by people who argue for video replays to be used when reviewing decisions in football so he will certainly live long in the memory.
