In May 1972, South Korea’s national side played a double header against Coventry City, who were on a tour of South East Asia.
Played on 25th and 28th of May at Seoul’s Dongdaemun stadium, Coventry won the opening game 2 – 0 and followed that up with an even better 3 – 0 win three days later.
The programme suggests the second game was on the 27th of May, but records of the results seem to point to it being played a day later.
They also played two games against an all-Japan side, and a one off match against Santos of Brazil in Thailand.
Quintin Young and Alan Green scored for City with a Pele penalty and Edu goal making it 2 – 2 in Bangkok.
