This Dainty Dinah Toffee tin dates from around 1914, and features Newcastle United colours and the words “Play up Magpies” on the lid.
Dainty Dinah was produced at the Horner’s factory in Chester-le-Street, by Chester Burn viaduct, and many residents may remember their iconic chimney which bore the brand name in big white letters next to the railway line, which has since been demolished.
The factory even had a ladies football team in it’s heyday.
The famous half tonne bust of Dinah, featured on the front of the tin, is now on display at Beamish Museum.
