This is an original football programme issued by the Authority of the Everton and Liverpool Clubs for the Everton clash with Manchester City on 16th April 1906.
Everton and Liverpool produced a joint programme between 1904 and 1935 – initially this was due to one club’s first team playing at home on the same day as their rival’s reserves, which meant it was deemed easier to work together.
Even though it’s over 100 years old, there are adverts in here for places which will still be relevant to many Liverpudlians today including the Olympia, which was opened just one year earlier, the original Empire Theatre, and the Hippodrome on West Derby Road.
Everton lost this particular game 3 – 0 in front of a crowd of 10,000 at Goodison Park.
