This Cosmos watch originally belonged to the Brazilian legend Pele.
Following a match in 1976 Pele gave the watch to his teammate Dave Clements of Coventry City, Sheffield Wednesday and Everton fame. Dave’s watch battery had died, and in the letter of authenticity signed by the player, Pele reportedly said “here Clement – take my watch and you can be on time tomorrow.”
Around the watch face, the markings allow the wearer to keep track of the time following kick-off including injury time.
