Here we have a very rare document from the now defunct Oswestry United FC, showing the clubs annual Statement of Accounts and Balance Sheet.
The front of the document mentions that they recently withdrew from the league in 1914 after finishing in 12th – records show the club joining Lancashire Combination Division Two in the 1911/12 season.
The side were clearly in financial difficulty, but were making great strides in reducing their annual deficit.
