A very rare programme which is certainly worth much more than the original asking price of 1p nowadays!
Chester had just lost to fellow local rivals Tranmere at Sealand Road, in a 4 – 0 thrashing.
The rear includes a feature and photo of Jack Lipsham, a legend of the club during early non-league days.
Lipsham had three spells with Chester, also appearing three times for Liverpool in 1906/07, and upsetting some when he moved to Wrexham from 1913 to 1919.
Three of Lipsham’s brothers also broke into the Chester squad around the same time in 1903/04 – with the eldest, Bert, also making the England squad.
Jack retired after a final season with Chester in 1919/20.
