BAOR stands for ‘British Army of the Rhine’, an occupation force set up in Germany following the end of the 2nd World War.
This is a very rare ticket from their Combined Services XI match against Dundee United in the Germany city of Hamburg.
These trips to the troops were part of a regular entertainment programme set up for the occupying British forces in Germany at the time with a lot of English and Scottish professional clubs taking part.
Dundee drew 2 – 2 with the BAOR XI before stopping off in Italy and Austria to play further matches against other local units.
