This medal was one of a batch which we recently saved from being melted down by a jeweler.
It was awarded to James Marshall of Bishop Auckland FC, who won their second FA Amateur Cup final at the turn of the century in 1899/1900. To date, they’ve won the cup ten times, and appeared a further eight times in the final.
At present we have no further information about the player, so if anyone does unearth anything, we’d love to hear from you!
