A serious amount of effort went into producing early amateur football medals, as this part of Sheffield & Hallamshire FA examples from 1911 to 1913 show!
The earlier of the two medals was actually produced by Fattorini & Sons of Bradford, who also designed and produced the historic FA Cup.
Sheffield & Hallamshire FA have been in existence since 1867, promoting the beautiful game in South Yorkshire.
