This is a rare League South Cup Semi-Final signed programme from the match between Chelsea FC and West Ham United on 17th March 1945 at the ground of Tottenham Hotspur.
As the match took place during World War II you can clearly see a warning to the base of the programme, which advises spectators to take cover under the stands in the case of an emergency, no doubt something along the lines of an air raid.
The programme was signed by the Chelsea contingent on the day. Chelsea led the match 2 – 0 at half time, and despite a West Ham goal early in the second half they managed to hold on for a 2 – 1 win.
