This menu comes from a dinner held in honour of the achievements of Birmingham City FC in the 1956 FA Cup, where they played in front of 100,000 spectators at Wembley in the final against Manchester City.
Manchester City took an early lead in the game through Joe Hayes, before being pegged back by Noel Kinsey to make it 1 – 1. Two goals in the second half from Jack Dyson and Bobby Johnstone saw Manchester City win 3 – 1, but the match is remembered more for the fact that Bert Trautman playing on despite breaking his neck during the game after a collision with Peter Murphy.
The menu was signed by a number of Birmingham players including AJ Leslie and WH Walton.
