This is a very rare Barnsley FC 1938/9 season ticket which still contains the name of the owner Mr A. Jenkinson of 19 Middlesex Street, Barnsley (ticket number 344).
The ticket granted entry to the club’s Wing Stand and cost £1/10/-
That season saw Barnsley crowned Football League Division Three North Champions and they were promoted to Division Two, but with the outbreak of war in 1939 the Football League was cancelled. Upon resumption Barnsley were relegated back to Division 3.
