This is a match card for the Midlands area, issued by Ansells Brewery for the 1938/9 season.
It covers a number of clubs including Birmingham City, Stoke, Wolves and Aston Villa, and features adverts for some of their best selling beers on the rear.
Ansells Brewery was closed by owner Allied Breweries in 1981 after successive strikes and problems with profitability.
Allied’s successor Carlsberg continues to brew Ansells Mild & Best Bitter through it’s JW Lees operation in Manchester.
