This is an original press shot of Blackpool FC captain Harry Johnston lifting the FA Cup following the famous ’53 Matthews final where they beat Bolton 4 – 3.
Matthews didn’t actually score in the game, but inspired his team to an inspiring fightback from 3 – 1 down, with Stan Mortensen scoring the only hat-trick in an FA Cup final at the old Wembley stadium in the process.
