John Charles is seen by many as the greatest all-round British born footballer to have played the beautiful game, playing both centre half and centre forward extremely well. He could also play full back and midfield.
He was such a versatile and talented player than he managed to break the Leeds United scoring record with 42 goals in one season, whilst also being picked as centre half for Wales.
In 1968 he was invited to tour Rhodesia for a series of 12 games, of which they won 10 and drew 2.
This is an original team sheet taken from their match against Mangula M.T.D. on 5th June 1968, a game which featured two other extremely famous Welsh players in the shape of the Allchurch brothers.
