This is a bagatelle game based on the 1982 World Cup finals.
The name bagatelle dates back to 1777, when a party thrown in honour of Louis XVI of France saw the introduction of a new table game featuring a slender table and cue sticks. Players used the sticks to shoot ivory balls up the inclined table, using the various pins to try and get balls made from ivory into the various holes around the table. The party was thrown at the recently built Château de Bagatelle near Boulogne.
Not quite sure what Louis what have made of this 1980s version, but had he been a football fan, we are sure he would have bought one!
One notable mistake is the use of the Union Jack as the flag for the England team.
