Here we have four Portsmouth FC star badges, featuring players who were at the club between 1946 and 1960.
Peter Harris made 479 appearances from 1946 – 60, scoring 193 goals and earning two England caps.
Ernie Butler was the club’s shot stopper from 1946 – 53, and won back to back Football League titles with them after signing from Bath City.
Jack Froggat was with Portsmouth from 1946 – 54, and played 279 games, scoring 65 goals. He signed as a centre-left but persuaded the club to move him to outside half. He reluctantly left the club for Leicester City, going on to make a further 143 appearances for the Foxes. He also scored twice for England over the course of 13 games.
Len Phillips spent his entire professional career at Pompey from 1946 to 1956, with 45 goals from 245 appearances. He also earned 3 England caps before moving to non-league football.
