During the late 1960s future Wales international Dai Davies was spotted by an Everton scout when playing for Swansea City’s youth squad.
After a single season with the Swans in the 3rd Division, Davies moved to Everton for a fee of £20,000.
The original letter above, signed by the Swansea City Secretary of the time, acknowledges receipt of that cheque from Everton.
Davies stayed with Everton until 1977, although he was loaned back to The Swans in 1974. He played for them again between 1981 and 1983 after a stint with Wrexham.
Heving been initiated by the Welsh Gorsedd of Bards in 1978, Davies is also a Druid.
