Merthyr Tydfil FC were formed in 1945, eleven years after Merthyr Town FC folded in 1934.
Initially the club joined the Welsh League, but after finishing runner-up in their first season they moved up to the Southern League.
This programme has been signed by Colchester and Merthyr in February 1949.
Merthyr were liquidated in 2010, and reformed as Merthyr Town FC again in the same year.
