Scotland’s famous rhubard & custard colours were based on the polo colours of the 5th Earl of Roseberry.
The Earl was an important Liberal peer and key patron of the Scottish FA in it’s early years.
This 1949 example was worn by Willie Waddell in a famous 2 – 0 win over France at Hampden Park courtesy of a double from Billy Steel.
The shirt is currently out on loan to The National Football Museum.
