This original Stoke player’s pass belonged to former goalkeeper Gilbert Henry Brookes, who had a spell with Shrewsbury before moving to The Potters for the 1922/23 season.
He would make 12 league appearances for Stoke, and as they found themselves in a relegation battle as the season progressed he’d lose his place to Leslie Scott.
Brookes would also go on to play for Swansea Town, Luton Town and Merthyr Town.
