In the spring of 1960, Cardiff City fans had double the reason to celebrate.
The club was celebrating 50 years since joining the English Football League, then on 16th April Danny Malloy captained The Bluebirds to a 1 – 0 win over Aston Villa to secure promotion to the top flight, Graham Moore finding the net for the Welsh side.
Back in 1910 when they joined the EFL, Aston Villa had been their first opponents.
