A very rare set of Corinthian FC handbooks covering their season from 1895 to 1899.
The club were founded in 1882 by the Assistant Secretary of the Football Association as an amateur side purely playing friendlies, and were famed for their sportsmanship and fair play along with their attractive footballing style. A number of their players made appearances for England, and they were involved in a number of foreign tours when banned from playing top opposition during ‘The Split’ – when they pledged allegiance to the Amateur Football Association.
In 1939 they joined forces with Casual FC to form Corinthian-Casuals FC who still play in Tolworth.
