On 26th October 1938 England faced a Rest of Europe side at Highbury – and it became the second ever live match to be shown on British TV, although they only aired the first half.
England scored twice in the first half much to the delight of those watching at home, and wrapped up the win with another goal in the second half which plenty of people seemingly didn’t get the chance to see.
Willie Hall, Tommy Lawton and Len Goulden were the scorers for the men in white.
