Another matchworn shirt we have out on loan to The National Football Museum in Manchester.
This iconic black & white striped Juventus shirt belonged to Giacomo Mari in the 1950/51 season.
Mari’s shirt proudly displays the ‘Scudetto’ sheild, in Italian national tri-colour, which is worn by all sport clubs who win their respective annual championships in Italy.
A highly regarded midfielder, Mari made 8 appearances for the national side, and also spent 4 season at Juventus, winning the league title twice.
He is one of only five Italians to play for the national side in both the 1950 and 1954 World Cup.
After leaving Juventus, he moved on to Sampadoria and then Padova, before seeing out his career where he stared, with Cremonese.
