On 5th January 1931, the original Ilford FC celebrated their 50th anniversary at the Liverpool Street Hotel in London, and this booklet comes from that celebration.
The team were famous amateur side, much like Corinthians, and played in the Southern League, also winning the Amateur FA Cup twice.
Originally based at Lynn Road, in 1979 they merged with Leytonstone to form Leytonstone and Ilford, moving to Granleigh Road.
The clubs original ground was used to host two Olympic football matches during the 1948 games.
A new incarnation of Ilford FC was formed in 1987.
