This shirt was issued to former England international Ray Clemence for the 1982 World Cup.
In England’s opening group game, the Admiral logo was missing from the shirt, as the team were unaware that FIFA had relaxed laws around advertising leading up to the tournament.
Shirts for the following World Cup games in ’82 then included the Admiral logo.
During his England career, Clemence became the first keeper since Frank Swift to captain the international side before he retired from internationals in ’83.
