This medal was awarded to Tommy Roberts, who was a runner up in the 1922 FA Cup final with Preston North End.
The final was played out at Stamford Bridge, and Huddersfield won the game 1 – 0.
Roberts began his football career at non League Soho Villa, before moving on to Leicester Fosse. After World War I he joined Preston North End, making his debut for the club against Blackburn Rovers. As a centre forward, he was their top scorer in his first season netting a total of 29 times.
He then moved on to Burnley, before getting lured back to Deepdale for a 2nd spell. Following a car accident which left him with injury problems, he moved to Tottenham and played just four games but hit the back of the net on two occasions. He ended his career with a brief spell for Dick Kerrs XI and Chorley.
