As part of their pre-season preparations Spurs played in the Costa del Sol Trophy mini-tournament in both 1965 and 1966 in Spain, winning the trophy on both occasions.
In 1965 they beat Valencia and Standard Liege, and in ’66 victories over Malaga and Benfica made it back to back tournament wins.
The tournament was played over two days, and this is a ticket to the opening ’66 game against Malaga.
Apparently the four foot tall trophy was so heavy Jimmy Greaves commented “I’m not picking that ***** thing up – I’ll kill myself.”
