A fantastic pre-season programme from Workington AFC, unfortunately mounted to black card by the previous owner.
The practice match saw two sets of potential Workington players go head to head at the club’s former Lonsdale Park Ground, which they moved from in the 1930s to their present day home of Borough Park.
Workington were formed in 1888, folded in 1911, and then reformed in 1921 and re-entered the North Eastern League.
A former manager was Bill Shankly from 1954 to 1955, and former England keeper Scott Carson also played for the club during his career.
