This menu has been signed by the Croydon Common FC squad who gained promotion for the club in the 1913/14 season.
Formed in 1897, they turned professional in 1907 entering Southern League 2nd Division.
In 1908 they moved to The Nest, which would be a future home of Crystal Palace, and were promoted to the First Division, but then relegated the following season finishing bottom of the table.
The 1913/14 season saw them beaten only twice to gain promotion again, where they finished 2nd from bottom, but were not relegated due to the suspension of the football league during the war.
The club was wound up in 1917, the only First Division side in the English game not to start up again following the defeat of Germany in 1918 in the war.
