Everton were trailing 2 – 0, but three goals in fifteen minutes from Derek Temple and Michael Trebilock (2) saw The Toffees win their 3rd FA Cup final trophy.
That season Everton became the first team in history to reach a final without conceding a goal in all preceding rounds.
Wednesday, on the other hand, became the first full-strength side to lose the cup inside the first 90 minutes after holding a two goal lead.
