This statue was presented to the late John Charles by the Leeds United Supporters Trust in 2002 to celebrate the many achievements during his playing career.
Born in Swansea, Charles is still seen by many as the greatest all-round football player to come from the UK, and had two spells with Yorkshire’s number one side from 1949 to 1957, and then briefly in 1962 after returing from Juventus.
John sadly died in 2004 in Wakefield.
