This trophy was presented to the winners of the Nottinghamshire Amateur Football League Challenge Cup by Mr E Jardine in 1902.
The league was established a few years earlier in 1898.
No details of the winners are engraved on the trophy, with the detailed scene of a football game (top right image) occupying the free space on the other side.

E Jardine is most probably Ernest Jardine, a local industrialist in Nottingham who inherited his father’s lace-making machinery business, John Jardine.
Jardine employed 2,500 to 3,000 people in his four factories in the city, plus at others in Newark and Draycott – and the company also had a Jardine FC team.
He was also president of Nottinghamshire FA for more than 30 years, and the “Notts Jardines” won the cup a year later in 1903.
