This is an item that has arrived with us today, a Welsh Schoolboy Football Association cap which was given to the seller’s family by former international Leighton James back in the 1970s.
James played 54 games for Wales during his international career, scoring 10 goals.
He started and ended his playing career at Burnley FC, and scored 124 goals from 645 appearances over 19 years.
In June 2007 James was named Rookie Lollipop Man of the Year by Swansea Council, ironically in the same year he was banned from driving after being caught behind the wheel 1.5 times over the legal drink drive limit.
