This is an original letter sent by Albert Lindon, manager of Merthyr Town FC, to help garner support for the club’s application to join the Third Division.
Lindon had previously played as a goalkeeper keeper at Merthyr Town, who folded in 1934. He was then taken on by Charlton as a player-manager in 1928, winning just one of his eleven games in charge. In 1932, he was appointed Chalrton Manager once again, but failed to prevent relegation to the Third Division in 1933, soon replaced by Jimmy Seed.
