This is a fantastic example of a late WW2 era programme, from a meeting between Middlesbrough and Huddersfield in the Wartime League.
Middlesbrough would go on to win the game 2 – 1, although exactly one week later, Huddersfield would exact revenge with a 2 – 0 defeat on home soil in front of their smallest crowd that season – just 2,007 people.
George Stobbart, briefly featured on the rear of the programme (below) was Boro’s top wartime goalscorer, hitting the back of the net 125 times in just 168 games.
