In 1976 the Manchester City squad toured Japan, playing seven games over busy two week period, including four against the Japanese national side, and three against South Korea.
This tour jumper belonged to the 1976 PFA Young Player of the Year Peter Barnes, who scored in that year’s League Cup final for City.
Barnes had two spells with City, the first between 1974 and 1979, before being signed by West Brom for a club record fee of £748,000. He made a brief return to Maine Road in 1987, but soon fell out of favour and was loaned out to Bolton, Port Vale and Wimbledon before leaving for Hull City in 1988.
