This knee pad was worn by Uruguayan goalkeeper Roque Gaston Maspoli Arbelvide in their famous 1950 World Cup victory over Brazil in the Maracana.
It includes a certificate of authenticity, and has been signed on the rear by the player (see 2nd photo).
Following his playing career, he then managed number of league sides in Uruguay, Spain, Peru and Ecuador. In the 1980′s he coached their national side, and took charge again in 1997, becoming the oldest ever manager of a national football side, aged 80.
