This ball has been signed by the 1983 Wales squad who played against Bulgaria as they just missed out on the Euro 84 finals.
Drawn in Group D with Yugoslavia, Bulgaria and Norway, it wasn’t an easy job for Wales to qualify. In fact, this was the closest of all the groups.
Wales finished on 7 points, just one behind Yugoslavia. They played Bulgaria twice, winning 1 – 0 at home, and then losing 1 – 0 away.
In the 90th minute of the final game in the group, just after Bulgaria squandered a chance to go ahead, Yugoslavia scored to win 1 – 0.
A draw would have put Wales into the finals.
