This is a rare 1962 FA Cup final souvenir ball, made by Mettoy for the Tottenham vs Burnley final at Wembley.
Mettoy used to produce the popular Wembley Trophy Football, which were bright orange in colour and a regular sight among groups of kids having a kick about on the streets, making that wonderful plastic sound when kicked.
The 1962 FA Cup final started well for Spurs, with Jimmy Greaves scoring in the 3rd minute. Jimmy Robson made it 1 – 1 just after half time, but just a minute later Bobby Smith restored the 1 goal lead for Tottenham. Danny Blanchflower sealed the victory with an 80th minute penalty to make it 3 – 1 at the final whistle.
