This programme has been signed by the Grimsby Town side who faced off against Hull City on 26thy May 1947 at Boothferry Park.
The match was contested for the newly purchased East Riding County Football Association trophy, an annual event between Hull and a chosen opponent.
Courtesy of Ralph Pomeroy on our Facebook page, we now know that the score was 1 – 0 to Hull with a Thompson penalty in the second half. Ralph found a brief report on the game in a Hull Daily Mail article from 27th May 1947.
