This menu comes from a post-match dinner following England’s famous 3 – 2 victory over Austria, where Nat Lofthouse earned the title “Lion of Vienna” after his match winning performance.
Lofthouse was elbowed in the face, tackled from behind and eventually brought down by the keeper as he scored his second of the match, and England’s third to help them to victory.
