In the 1959/60 season Wolves were narrowly denied a 3rd consecutive league title when Burnley beat them by a single point, but an FA Cup win still saw them entered into the European Cup Winners Cup the following season.
In the quarter final they met F.K. Austria Wien, and this is the original handover pennant from the first leg at the Prater Stadium on 12th October.
The away leg saw Wolves go down 2 – 0, leaving them with some work to do at Molineux.
When the time came, Wolves duly obliged with a superb 5 – 0 win with a brace for Kirkham and Broadbent, plus one for Bobby Mason.
Wolves lost 3 – 1 on aggregate to Rangers in the semi final, and Rangers lost to Fiorentina in the final.
